回顾大师 Paul Bacon：开创历史的封面设计

Paul Bacon passed away at 91. During over 50 years of his design career, he has made cover art for nearly 6,500 books and 200 covers. His signature “Big Book Look” is prominent and powerful with eye-catching, full-width hand-drawn titles, minimal saturated colors, and a few abstract yet eclectic graphics. It fully met the needs of commercial book design at the late twentieth century, while not sacrificing personality and distinctiveness. His passion for Jazz also left a treasure in Jazz album cover design.

91岁的 Paul Bacon（保罗·培根）走了。自他从事设计以来的50多年里，他为近6,500本书籍和近200张专辑设计了封面。他标志性的「Big Book Look」风格卓然有力，醒目而撑满页面的手绘字体、极简而鲜明的配色、少量抽象的图像元素，充分切合了20世纪后期商业化的书籍设计的需求，然而它们每一本都具有各自的特色，无落俗之虞。
